Quarantine Beads

Hello fabulous people!! Welcome back to my blog! I pray all is well!

Today we are talking about HAIR!!!

Since we’ve been in quarantine I know a lot of women who go to the salon regularly haven’t been able to get their hair done, but THANK GOD I’m not one of those women lol I’ve been natural since 2011 and have always done my own hair. So being stuck in the house doesn’t really make a difference on the health of my hair, but it does give me an opportunity to try something new!!

Who remembers their mother putting beads in their hair and making that

‘clickitty – clack’

sound for WEEKS?! How did we sleep?? lol Well, let’s all take a collective sigh because that phase of our lives are over. With this style, you can keep your inner child, but make it fashion!

How to get this style?!

First things first, this is a stretched hairstyle! That means if you have tightly coiled and kinked strands, 4c like me, then you need to stretch your hair before doing this style.

How I stretch my hair for ANY style

Day 1 – Washing, deep condition, some type of moisturizing treatment, then 5 or 6 flats twists straight back

Day 2 – Take down flats twists, use elongating gel (Miss Jackie’s) for 12 – 15 two strand twists and sometimes bantu knots

Day 3 – Take down twists or bantu knots and style

This style took about four hours to complete. One thing I knew I didn’t want was tiny twists! I definitely wanted medium sized twists because

Tip: MORE twists = MORE beads = HEAVY HEAD! Decide how many twists you want before you style!

the more twists you have, the heavier you head will be! Whew! And it will probably be uncomfortable when you sleep.

This hairstyle is very UNIQUE, so it requires a unique confidence! Don’t be afraid to take risks in your wardrobe when rocking the style!

Hat – Lack of Color

Jumpsuit – Know Style

Well, that’s all for now folks! Thanks again for joining me! Stay safe and be kind to others!

Love & Peace
