The Social Distancing Summer! pt. 1.

Hello FABULOUS people!

As you all know, we are in the middle of a pandemic and that basically means WE CAN’T GO ANYWHERE! Well, not exactly. It just means we have to stay home as much as possible and when we do go out, we have to be at least 6ft apart from others at all times.

But what does that mean for summer? Unfortunately, for everyone’s safety, no beaches! I KNOW! I KNOW!! We can all cry together. I am used to going to the beach at least 2-3 times a year. Whether its with my family or a last minute girls weekend getaway, I was always in somebody’s ocean lol

For a while I was sad, but then I decided that I wasn’t going to let COVID-19 take my summer away!!! So ALL summer long, I’m going to find socially distant ways to enjoy myself to the FULLEST!!! I’m trying new things, revamping old things and even doing things that scare me. So, join me on this journey! I’ll be posting each event here! SUMMER 2020 is going to be EVERYTHING!!!

So, this weekend I went KAYAKING!!!!! OMG!! SAY WHAT?? Yes, I did!!

Y’all it was amazing! The trees were beautiful, the sky was majestic, the clouds danced around us as we floated down the canal. We even saw turtles! SO MANY TURTLES lol but the best part was, I didn’t have to travel to experience this! Along the Augusta Canal (adjacent to the Savannah River) there is a kayak rental shop and apparently its been there for years! We were in our own boat, went at out own pace AND we were following the social distancing guidelines. I’m excited to do it again and bring others along as well! Now, let’s get into this outfit!

A dry bag! It’s used to keep items dry, like a phone!

We had 2 dry bags that held our phones, a speaker to amplify music from our phones and car keys.

Wet shoes! These shoes are made for getting wet!

You can also wear these to the beach to protect your feet from rocks and other sharp objects. There were times when it got REALLY hot, so we dipped our feet in the cool water every now & then. Trust me, I wouldn’t have done it without wet shoes on lol

A canister that keeps your water cold!

I bought this Hydro Flask from Dicks Sporting Goods. It’s like a Yeti, but more popular on the west coast. It holds a handful of ice and 2 FULL bottles of water! Great purchase!

Overall, I STRONGLY recommend everyone try kayaking at least once! You won’t regret it!
